Dennis Farms is located in east central Alabama, 7 miles from the Georgia state line. We grow lush, nutritious grass in our pastures using management intensive grazing principles to insure our animals are eating the grass at its best while improving our soils. We raise Red Angus cattle, Katahdin hair sheep and Tamworth heritage pigs to harvest our grass. At the appropriate stage of maturity, we harvest our animals to produce nutritious and delicious grass-fed beef, grass-fed lamb and pastured pork.
We raise our cows, sheep and pigs in a natural pastoral environment never giving growth-promoting antibiotics, hormones, or steroids. We believe that contented animals produce a superior product, so we strive for a low stress environment emphasizing the humane treatment of our livestock. We follow a strict grass-fed protocol with our cows and sheep, never feeding grain, animal byproducts or feed supplements. Our pigs graze the pasture along with the cows and sheep and receive supplemental grain as needed. The pigs are never on a self-feeder and we do not use farrowing crates.
Please take some time and explore our web site to better know us and our farm. You can also follow us on Facebook. We are proud of the effort we make to provide our customers a quality product that tastes good and is good for them.
Dennis Farms grass-fed beef is currently offered as whole cow “Primeburger.” Meat from the entire cow is evenly mixed together to provide a ground beef product with a taste and texture that’s like eating steak in a patty. Our Tamworth whole hog sausage consists of 100% of the meat from the hog and is much leaner, healthier and tastier than grocery store sausage. Pigs for roasting, halves and wholes are also available. Our grass-fed lamb comes as ground, chops and roasts and has the lighter more delicate flavor one gets from hair sheep. All of our animals are processed in a USDA inspected facility.
In the NW Atlanta area, our products are available through our friends and partners, the Hammond family at “My Dad and Me Family Farm” in Powder Springs, GA. Please call Susan or Tina (678-567-1826) for pricing and availability.

Green
Acres Farm is a small family farm in the Northwest corner of Florida,
less than a mile south of the Alabama-Florida border. We moved from Pensacola,
with our two children, in the spring of 2007 to develop a small-scale
farm. We
have learned a lot about sustainability and the realities of the current
food system over the past three years, and we continue to learn.
Our farm philosophy is based on working with nature.
We raise our animals on pasture, utilizing rotational grazing, compost
and organic inputs to increase the vitality of life in the soil. This
enables us to raise stronger, healthier animals; and in turn, clean, nutrient-rich
food for our local community.
We are currently raising Lamb, Broilers (both Cornish
Cross and Freedom Rangers) Duck, Thanksgiving Turkey and
True Free-Range Eggs.
In the Fall of 2010 we plan to start raising Pastured Pork.
Look for us at the Pensacola Palafox Farmers Market (April,
May, June), Saturdays, 8am to noon, and the Pensacola Port City Market (October,
November, December & March), Saturdays, 9am to noon. We also have
pick up at the farm, Spring & Fall, Fridays from 3 to 6pm.
