At Twister Ridge Ranch is located 10 miles east of Vinita, Oklahoma in the beautiful rolling hills of northeast Oklahoma’s Green Country, not far from the Kansas, Arkansas and Missouri borders. We are a second and third generation, family-owned ranch raising grass-fed / grass-finished Aberdeen Angus beef. We raise our beef naturally without using hormones, antibiotics, or grains.
Aberdeen Angus is a Scottish breed of small beef cattle that are well proportioned with a more compact, smaller frame size. They offer all the advantages of Angus cattle but in a smaller package; heavily muscled, quality carcass, with typically larger rib eyes per 100 pounds of body weight than the larger Angus.
We offer whole and half beef at 18 months to 2 1/2 years of age, delivered to quality USDA inspected meat processors in the surrounding area. Current pricing as of 5/17/2022 is $3.60 per pound of hanging weight, averaging 225 to 425 pounds.
For more information or to order a beef call (281) 468-5881 or e-mail us at alanna@twisterridgeranch.com. We have the beef available this summer and fall and the processing dates through 2023, so reserve your beef now to save your date and guarantee your freezer will not go empty.

The Chapman Creek Cattle Company finishes its certified grassfed beef cattle the old fashioned way—in the pasture, naturally. Our mission is to provide the highest quality grassfed beef to our customers. We sell our beef by the side and make the buying experience as easy as possible.
We take orders year round and provide special pricing for cattle that are processed for delivery in the spring and fall each year. We provide free delivery to the metro Kansas City and northeast and central Kansas areas. For pricing and availability please see our web site or contact us at clark_duffy@cox.net.
All of our natural beef is certified grassfed by the American Grassfed Association. That means you can be assured our cattle have never received antibiotics or hormones and are finished on our native pastures. These cattle are 100% grassfed and never in a feedlot environment. All of our cattle are processed one at a time in a federally inspected processing plant.
Our certified grassfed beef is naturally lean, yet tender and flavorful, something only a truly natural product can provide. Grassfed beef has a firm texture and distinctively rich flavor you are sure to enjoy.
Certified grassfed beef is the delicious healthy choice. Cattle that eat just grass have higher ratios of omega fatty acids that reduce the risk of health problems. Only fish and olive oil have higher ratios of omega fatty acids. A healthy acid known as CLA is formed in the rumen of cattle when they only eat grass. The primary benefit of CLA is converting human body fat into lean muscle.
The Chapman Creek Cattle Company is owned by Clark and Susan Duffy. Our ranch is located in the western edge of the Flint Hills on the banks of Chapman Creek near Abilene. We also work with Glen and Patricia Everhart who own JOE’S Ranch in the eastern edge of the Flint Hills just north of Topeka.
For additional information please visit our website or contact us by e-mail or phone. Stay Slim–Be Healthy: Eat Grassfed Beef. Thanks, Clark.

Dale Family Farms is a small farm owned and managed by two generations of Dales. Located in South Central Kansas, we are striving to be sustainable. To do this, we have learned that we must better utilize our resources through improved grazing practices and reduced reliance on fuel and equipment. Over the last few years, we have realized that letting our animals remain in their natural environment—doing what they do best, grazing—is the key to sustainability.
Our beef comes from cattle that are finished on a strict forage diet of legumes, grasses, and forbs. The beef we sell contains no synthetic growth hormones and no antibiotics. When prepared properly, we have found that grass-finished beef is as tender as grain-fed beef with a much richer, fuller, beef flavor. Our grass-finished beef is available by the cut, wholes, halves and quarters.
Laying hens are allowed to free-range during the day, foraging for green grass, seeds and insects. This “salad bar” approach to their diet improves the flavor, texture and nutritional value of the eggs they produce.
Broilers re allowed to free-range during the day and can't even be compared to the industrial chickens you find in the store. Chicken is sold by the cut or as a whole bird.
Turkeys are also allowed to free-range during the day. They are available seasonally.
In 2010, pigs were added to the farm. Our hogs are pastured and allowed to roam tree rows near their pen, digging up roots and grass to supplement their diet. Pork is available by the cut, whole or half.
Dale Family Farms also carries goat and grassfed lamb.
Delivery and shipping are available.

Farmer
Brown Beef is located near Warrensburg, MO, about 50 miles southeast
of Kansas City. Delivery is available within a 100 mile radius including
the Kansas side of the Kansas City area.
Our family has been raising and eating grass fed
Polled Herefords in a closed herd for about 50 years. Recently we have
begun to give the cattle fresh grass daily through rotational grazing
mimicking natural herd behavior. We do not use grain, antibiotics, or
hormones. Our carbon footprint is quite small and through our rotational
grazing management we expect will become highly carbon sequestering as
the soil awakens with life and begins building topsoil naturally at a
vigorous rate.
This healthy, environmentally and humanely raised
100% grass fed beef is available as wholes, halves or split halves.
Meat is processed by Remer in Clinton and dry aged.

Farrar Family Farm is located 50 miles south of Kansas City near Adrian, MO. We offer grass-fed, grass-finished beef and lamb, forest-raised pork, and pasture-raised chicken and turkey. Our goal is to provide you with wholesome food naturally raised using regenerative farming methods that mimic the patterns found in nature.
We use rotational grazing practices with our cattle and sheep, moving them around our farm daily to new pastures and fresh forage.
The chickens and turkeys live out on pasture in mobile coops. We move them every morning to a clean area of pasture where they can scratch and range for grasses and bugs in addition to their non-GMO feed.
What is forest-raised pork? Pigs that live in the woods! This is the ideal environment for a pig. They use their snout to root around and turn up the ground, uncovering food on the forest floor. They also have access to non-GMO feed. Good bacon comes from happy pigs!
You can order our products online through our website and view our delivery schedule and locations. Each month we offer several *free* community pick-up locations around the KC Metro. Our current pick-up locations are Raymore, Lee’s Summit, Independence, Liberty, Martin City, Blue Springs, Harrisonville, Parkville, Prairie Village, Olathe, and Merriam/Mission. We also offer weekly Home Delivery for a small fee. Orders over $165.00 qualify for free home delivery.
We have buying options to fit a variety of needs:
- Individual retail cuts (1 steak, 1 pound bacon, 1 package ground chicken, etc.).
- Bulk/wholesale options (half hog, quarter beef, etc.).
- Discounted bulk boxes of select cuts (1 box of only ground beef, chicken breasts, wings, etc.).
- A 6-month CSA in summer (May–October) or winter (November–April).

At Hedgewood Farms, our mission is to practice humane and sustainable farming to provide premium-quality pastured beef, poultry, pork, and eggs that sustain the land and our bodies in the healthiest way possible.
Our products have no added hormones or antibiotics, and we never rely on chemical fertilizers, herbicides, or pesticides. Instead, we combine rotational grazing, poly-farming and strategic biodiversity to control weeds and soil quality.
Did you know cattle are ruminants? That is why our Angus and Scottish Highland/South Pole cattle are humanely raised and 100% grazed year-round. We practice management intensive grazing because it is best for the cattle and the soil.
Our pastured poultry receive supplemental grains that are 100% organic. They live in mobile chicken tractors and move across our pastures daily, feasting on cow patties, forage, and bugs while fertilizing our pastures at the same time. This builds the soil, benefits the ecology, and makes for a more flavorful, better textured, healthier chicken. Egg-laying hens are truly free-range and supplemented with 100% organic grain.
Our hogs forage freely in the woods and are happy and healthy. They too are supplemented with 100% organic grains.
Hedgewood Farms loves farmers markets. It is where we connect with our community and raise awareness. Find us at the Lenexa, KS Farmers Market and at the Brookside Farmers Market in Kansas City, MO. We sell individual cuts as well as sides of beef and pork. Poultry options include whole chickens, 8-piece cut-up chicken, and all the other retail cuts. We sell year-round.
We invite you to visit our website and become a Hedgewood Farms family subscriber—the best way to ensure your family receives high-quality, whole foods year-round. Subscribers receive priority access to all our products as we reserve inventory for your standing order items first when supplies are low. Delivery is free within our delivery radius with a minimum order amount.
Food is medicine. Know your farmer, know your food and most importantly, taste the difference!

Janzen Family Farms produces 100% grass-fed beef from
Angus adapted to the region. We raise them to meet or exceed criteria
established by the USDA for the “grass (forage) fed marketing
claim standard.” Our 100% grass-fed Angus are pastured
every day. They are hormone-free; vaccines and potential medications
are kept to a bare minimum. We reserve the use of antibiotics for special
cases. They are slaughtered at a small, state-inspected, family-run
meat locker near the farm.
We are moving toward more sustainability: Our
cropland is now certified organic and our virgin prairie was certified
organic in 2008 by the Oklahoma State Department of Agriculture. We
use crop rotation, cover crops, organic fertilizer, rotational grazing,
careful water management. We freshly stone-mill certified organic wheat
on site.
To maintain financial viability, we also use our
pre-existing conventional cattle-feeding facilities. Feedlot manure is
used as fertilizer in our soil-building program. We keep our conventional
cattle strictly separated from our direct-marketed 100% grass-fed animals.
You can purchase by the cut, in discounted “packs,” or
in bulk. You can pick up, or we deliver in the Newton, Wichita, Emporia,
Topeka and Lawrence areas. We sell at farmers markets and retailers.

jjjmgrassfedbeef.com, located near Truman Lake in West Central Missouri, is owned and operated by 3rd and 4th generation family farmers. After the Civil War, both Union and Confederate soldiers settled the countryside and area became known as "Golden Valley." Soft rolling hills and spring-fed creeks blended into large parcels of un-treed, open farmland in the Grand River Basin. John Jurgensmeyer and his fraternal twin Ben purchased their property near Montrose, MO in 1919. Today John's grandchildren and great-grandchildren operate the family farm that has been Certified Organic since 1997.
We primarily raise Angus and Hereford for their superior marbling characteristics. Our grass fed natural beef cattle forage on continually rotated fresh pastures, and never receive synthetic growth hormones. Our protocol is to never use any antibiotics unless absolutely necessary for the animal's health and welfare. Our pastures are never treated with artificial fertilizers, herbicides or pesticides. We cut and bale our own red clover, lespedeza, fescue and orchard grass hay into those big round bales we roll out in winter.
We have animals available year round and offer either Half or Whole Beef. Our beef is processed in a small, family-owned USDA inspected facility and is dry-aged for a minimum of 14–21 days. It is then cut into ground beef, steaks, roasts, brisket, and soup bones for those who want a healthy cut of beef on hand when they need it.
We are committed to providing 100% pure grass fed beef that our customers can feel good about feeding to their families. We like to think of our customers as friends and partners, and we want you to feel comfortable about buying your meat from someone you know and trust.

Prairie Opal Ranch started small with raising cattle for grass-fed and finished beef. We have grown, and we are now providing a variety of farm fresh meats for our family and yours. We currently raise cattle, Berkshire pigs (pork), Boer goats, Dorper lamb, and eggs (duck and chicken). We mostly sell our products in bulk, because retail cuts are typically sold out. Feel free to reach out and check with us on retail cuts. All meats are started and finished on native Colorado/Kansas pastureland; chickens and ducks are free range.
Currently, we manage 50+ head of cattle that cross-graze approximately 1000+ acres of grassland pastures. We practice regenerative farming and ranching for grass-eating animals. We want to mimic how animals lived in the wild before industrialized ranching took hold. We aim to build microbial activity, carbon retention and water infiltration in our soil. We practice sustainability by cross fencing our pastures and rotational grazing. We are building wildlife-friendly habitats, and bringing in beneficial insects, plants, and different animal species.
We love knowing where our food has come from and how our animals are treated and raised. We take pride in knowing our animals are well cared for and happy. Loved animals equal happy customers.
The future is bright here at Prairie Opal Ranch and we hope you will join us on our journey. We look forward to sharing our fresh products with you. Have a question? Call or email us.
